East Godavari District Collector Kartikeya Mishra on Tuesday instructed Sub-Collectors of Rajamahendravaram, Rampachodavaram, Project Officers of Yetapaka and Rampachodavaram and all RDOs to stop those boats which is not having licences and levy compounding fee.
During a video conference on Tuesday from the Collector’s office, he asked the officials to immediately get into action and verify licences of boats, sarangi and also fitness certificates. He asked to check availability of life jackets, small fire tenders, barricading at ramps and other facilities and take action on violators. He instructed them to take serious action on overloading of tourists in boats and report to police immediately. The Collector called for coordinated efforts by the Police, Revenue, Irrigation and Tourism Departments.
