Three passengers were killed and five others injured when a Bengaluru-bound private bus from Visakhapatnam, carrying 30 passengers, rammed a lorry on the national highway at Maddurupadu village in Kavali rural limits in Nellore district in the early hours of Thursday. The accident occurred when the driver of the bus allegedly lost control over vehicle while overtaking the lorry.
The deceased were identified as Samavedam Surya Kumari, 65, of Seethammadhara in Visakhapatnam, Tadinada Praneeth, 25, of Vijayawada, and Ramdas, 55, of Morampudi village near Rajahmundry in East Godavari district.
Five persons, who were injured in the accident, were rushed to the government hospital in Kavali.
