Rajamahendravaram: MP Margani Bharat has said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has fulfilled his promise of merging the APSRTC in the State government by creating the new Public Transport Department. The long pending demand of RTC staff was fulfilled at last with the initiative of the Chief Minister, he added.
Inaugurating a new bus service to Tirupathi from the complex here on Sunday, he said that from now onwards, the APSRTC has come nearer to the people and it was the duty of the employees to work in tandem to deliver quality services to the passengers and also strengthen the hands of YS Jaganmohan Reddy. It would also be beneficial to the employees in several ways, he added.
Though there was funds crunch, Reddy took the bold decision relating to merger and also saved tha APSRTC from a serious debt trap. Now, the RTC employees should operate the buses as per schedule to earn confidence among the people about its efficiency and effectiveness in serving the public, he said. Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary, Regional Manager KS Brahmananda Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
