Wedding gifts are supposed to be heartfelt and long-lasting. Something that mirrors the giver’s blessings and hope for the newlyweds.

Some believe in gifting things that will help the couple set up their home together. Then there’s the whole surprise gift angle from friends and relatives.

However, parents are expected to go grand with gifts. At many weddings, parents shower their children with valuable gifts or intangible assets that have a significant monetary value.

But one father from Andhra went to a new extreme of enthusiasm while selecting gifts for his newlywed daughter during  Ashadha Masam, the holy month in Telugu tradition.

According to an India Today report, the daughter received huge quantities of fish, sweets, and vegetables from her father.

Ashadha Masam happens to be an important month for newlyweds. The new bride, as per traditions of the month, receives gifts from her parents.

Battula Balarama Krishna, a prominent businessman from Rajahmundry, spared no expenses in making this year’s Ashadha Masam a memorable one for his daughter.

Krisha reportedly sent 1000 kg fish, 10 goats, 250 kg grocery items, 250 kg sweets to his daughter’s residence in Yanam, Puducherry.

The huge delivery also included 250 jars of pickles and 250 kg prawns.

Krishna’s daughter, Pratyusha, recently tied the knot with Pawan Kumar, son of a prominent businessman from Yanam. The couple received the huge consignment of gifts on their first Ashadham.

Unsurprisingly, the daughter was taken aback when trucks carrying the gifts arrived at her residence.

While this story of gifts was all about a father’s love for his daughter, one story of gifts went viral recently for a couple’s bizarre list of wedding rules.

The list of rules shared on behalf of a bride and groom explained things guests are supposed to do – and not do.

The rules include no talking to the bride and bringing a gift worth $75 (Rs 5,500) or more.
