Soggade Chinni Nayana is a supernatural film by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala, written by Ram Mohan P in 2016 in the Indian Telugu language. Nagarjuna played dual parts opposite Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi and produced the movie under his Annapurna Studios banner. The supporting characters were Nassar, Mahadevan, Sampath Raj and Brahmanandam. 

Yama sends back to earth to reconcile the soul of Bangarraju, a flirtable zamindar whose son and his wife Seetha are on the brink of divorce. During the process, he learns of his death and his relationship with the local Temple of Shiva. P. S. Vinod and Siddhardh Ramaswami made the movies, and Anup Rubens made the soundtrack and backdrop of the film. Prawin Pudi edited the film.

The main photos of the film started in Hyderabad on 19 November 2014 and wrapped on 4 October 2015. In and around Rajahmundry and Mysore, most of the film has been shot. During the Makar Sankranti Festival season, Soggade Chinni Nayana was published on 390-410 screens worldwide on 15 January 2016. It has garnered significant critical reviews and has succeeded in trade, and earned 750 million worldwide. In Kannada, Upendra Matte Baa made the film again (2017).

Soggade Chinni Nayana Movie Plot Details

Mohan Ram “Ramu” has a high level of socially intelligent cardiology in the USA. Seetha, his wife, feels lonely since, due to his work, Ramu pays little attention to her. You resolve to go and divorce Sivapuram, Rajahmundry, where Satyabhama Ramu’s mother lives. Satyabhama screams at a photo of her late spouse Bangarraju startled to find that Ramu and Seetha divorce.

Bangarraju’s soul’s still flirting in Naraka. Yama sends him back to earth in the direction of Shiva because he can only carry out a mission. Bangarraju, only Satyabhama can see and hear, strives to fix the difficulties of his family. Bangarraju has Ramu’s body on his birthday after multiple fruitless attempts. He meets the young cousins of Ramu, which he invites to his home. Ramu encounters Suri on the way back. 

A frightened drunk that flees away looks identical to Ramu and Bangarraju. Later, Suri says, to rid himself of remorse, that he assassinated Bangarraju after a lorry. Before divulging additional information, Suri dies in an accident, and Bangarraju knows his family is at risk. Ramu is having a good time with his cousins, jealous of Seetha. Unconscious Satyabhama faces Bangarraju. He advises helping Seetha to impress Ramu. Ramu and Seetha went to a theatre to see a film at Satyabhama’s suggestion. Ramu overpowers her tormentors when she is taunted. 

Seetha is pleasantly pleased because Ramu failed in a similar situation before he faced the same bunch. The two are gradually becoming closer, and Seetha realises that Ramu loves her. Bangarraju learns from Athmanandam that his uncle Rudraraju was the master of his killing, a godfather who can connect with souls. Rudraraju was planning to steal gems from the 1000-year-old Shiva’s Temple with his cousin Veerababbu. Bangarraju was killed, 

Suri was bribed to silence him. Only Bangarraju’s descendants can open the lock, and a servant will slay others, threatens a tantric when Rudraraju’s child dies when a celestial serpent bites him. Tantrik captures the spirit of Bangarraju and gives Sampath, Rudraraju’s grandson, a couple of threads, asking him to keep his mind from speaking with them and bind them to every family member of Bangarraju. 

After the snake goes, Sampath kills the Tantrik and saves the soul of Bangarraju. The Temple reaches Bangarraju, in which Satyabhama is unable to see or hear him, nor can he possess Ramu after the jewellery is removed from the treasury, Rudraraju and Sampath attack Ramu and Seetha.

Rudraraju tells the pair to put in a car that the valuables will make the villagers assume they’re the thieves. The thread to the hand of Ramu breaks loose, and Bangarraju owns him. Before departing Ramu, Bangarraju confronts them and recovers the jewellery operating in a nearby hospital on the wounded Seetha. 

The Satyabhama removes thread, and Bangarraju may be viewed. Ramu and Seetha conciliate, and, according to Shiva’s instructions, Yama instructs Bangarraju to come back. Yama grants him a chance to wipe away her tears if Satyabhama asks Bangarraju to stay. He asks her to continue to smile and to live happily for him and comes back to Naraka.

Soggade Chinni Nayana Movie Filming Additional Details

On 15 January 2016, on 800-900 screens, Soggade Chinni Nayana was released globally. Three other Telugu movies, affecting their distribution, were released simultaneously. The film’s rural backdrop made it fit for the Makar Sankranti season. Nagarjuna supported its release decision. He said, “Two and a half months ago, I publicised the date and blocked theatres. I can’t do anything now. “There was a mistake. Global Cinema gained the theatre rights for the Nizam region.

The film was critically assessed positively. Suresh Kavirayani from Deccan Chronicle presented four out of five stars to Soggade Chinni Nayana, praising the narrative clarity of Kurasala and called it a “great general” due to its steady pacing. In The Hindu, Sangeetha Devi Dundoo gave the movie 3.5 out of five stars and noted it was placed in a “family comforts area” which “gives great pleasure.”

The temple and serpent subplot was considered attractive to Dundoo. The film also received three out of 5 stars from The Times of India, Pranita Jonnalagedda. It was called “so straightforward, uncomplicated and unpretentious that the audience is glued to the simplification.”
