Action against 39 Covid notified private hospitals for violations: EG Collector

Kakinada, May 16 (UNI) East Godavari Collector d. Muralidhara Reddy has issued orders against 39 Covid notified private hospitals imposing Rs.1.54 crores as penalty for violations of guidelines such as collection of exorbitant rates over and above fixed by the government, non-allocation of 50 percent of beds for Arogya Sri and EHS category patients for cashless treatment and other violations.

Interacting with the managements of the covid notified private hospitals along with SPs and Joint collectors over Zoom video conference from collectorate here on Saturday, he asked the erring managements to pay the penalty imposed to the Arogya Sri accounts within forty eight hours.

The penalty levied on those hospitals vary from Rs.2 lakhs to 10 lakhs each . The Collector warned them that this was taken into consideration as a first lapse on their part and if repeats similar thing their hospitals would be taken over and run with the government medical officers and staff.

Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, Rajahmundry urban SP Shimoshi Bajpai, Joint Collector revenue Dr G Lakshmi sha, Joint collector development Keerti Chekuri, Joint Collector welfare wing G Rajakumari, sub collectors, RDOs, Municipal commissioners, Nodal officers, Medical officers and notified hospitals representatives took part in the video conference.
