Rajamahendravaram: Lions Club International Governor SVV Satayanarayana distributed sewing machines to three women in the old age home of Swarnandhra Seva Samithi (SSS) here on Friday.
Later, lauding the Samithi, he said that SSS was doing yeomen service to the aged persons and orphans by providing food and shelter and also imparting training in tailoring, computers etc to get their livelihood. At present, there is dire need of participation of non-governmental organisations in social service activities, he added.
He advised the Samithi founder Dr Gubbala Rambabu to continue his endeavor in serving the needy in society and assured to extend necessary help in this regard.
Dr Gubbala Rambabu said the organization was in the service of the needy for two-and-a-half decades and assured to continue the same. Many persons in society are also extending their help for the smooth running of the organisation.
