Is the sequel to ‘Dhee’ on cards? Manchu Vishnu pushes the ball into Srinu Vaitla’s court

Released in 2007 amid no expectations, Srinu Vaitla’s action-comedy Dhee created a sensation at the box-office and went on to acquire a cult following over the years. Thanks to the finest supporting cast of Brahmanandam, Sunil, Srihari and Jaya Prakash Reddy, the film struck the right chord with the audience owing to its hilarious comedy and LOL moments. Starring Genelia D’Souza as the leading lady, Dhee was the first commercial success for Manchu Vishnu as a protagonist.
Meanwhile, from the past few months, speculations are rife that both Vishu and Srinu Vaitla are planning to make a sequel to the successful film after 13 years. All of a sudden, the Manchu hero took to his social handle on Wednesday and posted that he has been receiving several congratulatory calls for confirming Dhee 2. However, the 38-year-old stated that rather than asking him, people should enquire Srinu Vaitla about the project. Looks like the ball is in the director’s court now!
