Visakhapatnam: The government had segregated 15 stock points for sand in the district on the basis of assembly constituency and has fixed the rate, said district collector V Vinay Chand.
For Vizag East, West, North and South assembly constituencies, the stock point is located at Mudasarlova. At this stock point, sand from Srikakulam is priced at Rs 975 a tonne and from Rajahmundry at Rs 1,590.
For Gajuwaka and Pendurthy constituencies, the stock point is at Aganampudi and Srikakluam sand costs Rs 975 a tonne and that from Rajahmundry costs Rs 1,450. For Bhimili constituency the stock point is Ananadapuram and price of sand is Rs 925 per tonne.
For Chodavaram, Madugula and Paderu constituencies, the stock point is Narsapuram and the price of sand is Rs 1,425. Araku Valley, an important constituency, has its at Kottavalasa and sand is priced at Rs 1,344 a tonne. Anakapalle’s stock point is at Anakapalle and the price of sand is Rs 1,250. Elamanchili’s stock point is at Achyutapuram, where the price of sand is Rs 1,300. Payakaraopeta’s stock point is Nakkapalli and the rate of sand is Rs 1,150. In Narsipatnam, the stock point is at Narsipatnam and the sand price is Rs 1,250.
