Vijayawada: Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Sadananda Gowda and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) at Surampalli village, Gannavaram in Krishna district,on Thursday.
The Chief Minister will reach Surampalli on Thursday morning. At around 11 am along with the Union Minister Sadananda Gowda he will inaugurate the building and participate in various programs organized there. After the inauguration he will return to Tadepalli.
CIPET was built at a cost of Rs.20 Crore and infrastructure facilities at a cost of Rs. 30 crore. Built on a 12.04 acres campus at Surampalli village it is expected to help plastics industry in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Guntur and Renigunta in the State. This a joint project between the state of AP and the Central government. The foundation for CIPET campus in 2015 and since then the classes were being conducted in rented premises in Vijayawada. So far, around 3,000 candidates have been trained at CIPET.
