A student hailing from Miryalaguda in Telangana was brutally murdered by his classmate in Chennai.
Sravan Kumar, a native of Tadakamalla village of Miryalaguda was pursuing hotel management at Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management.
Meanwhile, Kumar along with his classmates Shanmuka, a native of Anantapur and a girl from Rajahmundry had joined in a call centre as part-time. It is learned that Shanmuka killed Kumar as the latter was trying to get close to the girl.
The accused is also said to have warned the girl to stay away from Kumar. However, she continued to be closer with the victim which did not go well with Shanmuka who decided to get rid of Kumar.
On June 26, Shanmuka stabbed Kumar to death following a heated argument. Locals who saw Kumar lying in a pool of blood shifted him to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The Chennai police registered a case and launched an investigation. The police handed over Sravan’s body to his family in Mirayalaguda on Friday after an autopsy.
