Revenue Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy on Monday said that the State government was keen on developing rural infrastructure such as improving the road network and constructing permanent buildings for government offices.
Mr. Krishnamurthy, along with Rajamahendravaram MP M. Murali Mohan and local public representatives, laid the foundation stone for road works worth Rs. 1.95 crore at Tossipudi village near Bikkavolu.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that there would be no compromise with regard to the implementation of welfare programmes, even as the financial condition was not good. “We have laid a special focus on developing roads and buildings so that the quality of rural life would be improved, ” he said.
‘Housing for all’
Meanwhile, Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana addressed a public meeting at Mandapeta and assured that houses would be provided to all the eligible poor in the State. The allocation of houses and their construction would be completed in a transparent manner, he added.
