Post office passport service centre inaugurated

Kakinada, Mar 17 (UNI) Kakinada MP and floor leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Lok Sabha Thota Narasimham has inaugurated the Post Office Passport Service (POPS) Centre at the Head Post office here on Saturday.

He said that the people need not go over to far off places like Visakhapatnam to secure the passport but can avail the same by applying at the post office counter here itself in addition to Rajahmundry.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister or Home Nimmakayala Chinarajappa who was the guest of honour has said many people from Razole area were going abroad, especially to Gulf for employment for the past thirty years by securing passports from Chennai.
Now because of the efforts made by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu through Mr Narasimham the facility was provided at the Head post offices at two places in East Godavari district, liberalizing the process, he added.

Visakhapatnam Regional Passport Officer NLP Chowdary said that slots were being booked daily to issue passports to 100 people and already 80 applications had received.</span>
