Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team police, LB Nagar, on Wednesday arrested two persons on charges of peddling drugs and seized 5.5 kg of ganja from them.
According to the police, the arrested persons, P Ramesh Kumar Chary (39), was a resident of Asif Nagar while P Satish (29) hailed from Shivarampally. Based on a tip-off, the special team had conducted checks near the Jalpally Bus stop and apprehended the two, from whom two bags containing 5.5 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth around Rs 2 lakh, was seized.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said Chary was procuring the ganja from Rajahmundry and transporting it to Hyderabad on private buses. Satish used to accompany him to find potential customers. The two were produced before court after which they were remanded in judicial custody.
