Prohibition and Excise personnel on Wednesday conducted raids on illicit distillation centres and destroyed 6,570 litres of fermented jaggery wash and seized 60 litres of illicitly distilled liquor.
Speaking on the occasion, Prohibition and Excise Superintendent N. Surjith Singh stated that under the personal supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise (Kakinada) B. Aruna Rao, eight teams consisting of 50 employees of deputy commissioner cadre to excise constable participated in the raids.
The teams raided Kavalagoyyi, Raghunadhapuram, Srirampuram, Diwancheruvu, Punyakshetram, Namavaram and Mukkinada in Rajamahendravaram rural and Rajanagaram mandals. Another team raided Gontivanipalem in Addateegala mandal. Two special teams from Ramchandrapuram and Razole Excise stations also participated in the raids besides the staff of Prohibition and Excise stations of Rajamahendravaram (north) and Rajamahendravaram (south).
