Godavari dance, Lantern festival at Rajahmundry from Sep 27

Prominent artistes are expected to participate in the two day Godavari Dance and Lantern festival scheduled to be held at Kotilingala ghat on the banks of Godavari river in Rajahmundry from September 27.

The festival is being organised under the aegis of the department of Tourism with a view to promote tourism in the district reflecting the tradition and cultural heritage of the Godavari region.

District Collector Kartikeya Mishra while addressing the district level tourism development meeting at the Collectorate here today has asked the officials to make special arrangements for the event at the Kotilingala ghat including erecting of a floating stage with the support of the barges for staging of the dance performances and other cultural programmes.

The Collector has asked the police officials to arrange proper security arrangements to regulate the crowds. He also wanted the authorities to identify some vacant parking places in the city and arrange mini shuttle buses from there to Kotilingala ghat for the convenience of the visitors.
