Get ready for a laugh riot from August 4 to 6

VIJAYAWADA: Sumadhura Kalaniketan in association with Mummaneni Subba Rao Siddhartha Kala Peetham will conduct the 22nd State-level Telugu comedy playlet competition at PB Siddhartha College Auditorium, Moghalrajpuram, from August 4 to 6 to mark its 44th anniversary.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Sumadhura committee president Samanthapudi Narasa Raju  said that 30 entries were received from several cultural organisations of Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Bhimavaram, Guntur, Bapatla, Chilakaluripet, Repalle, Nellore, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Hyderabad and other places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the three-day playlet contest.
The selected playlets are ‘Vammo Guttonkayi’, Akka Alugudu- Chelli Sanugudu, ‘Tooka Tesaru, ’Sarita Swatimutyam’, ’Sundari.. Subba Rao’, ’Vennelochindi’, ’Okko roju inte, ’Anaganaga OO Office’ and ‘Take it Easy’. 

Comedy skits will be staged and a jokes competition will also be held as part of the event. 
The Jandhyala Memorial Award will be presented to veteran actor Giri Babu. S Kabirdas award will be presented to veteran artiste Vankayala Satyanarayana. Noted artist Saroja will be presented with movie and theatre artist Radhakumari Award. Sumadhura Kalaniketan members PSN Murthy, Bhaskar Sarma, K Murali Krishna and others were present on the occasion.
