Andhra Pradesh: Girl chops off classmates’ braids

Rajahmundry: A student of Class V chopped off the hair of four of her classmates while they were asleep in their hostel room following a tiff over a trivial matter. 

Nearly 150 girls study at the AP Social Welfare Residential School in Godi village of Allavaram mandal in East Godavari. Four of them — Kirtana, Lakshmi Soumya, Bhagyasri and Chandu, woke up on Sunday morning to find that their hair had been chopped off. The dumbfounded girls immediately raised a hue and cry. As the news began to spread, the school authorities intervened. After conducting an inquiry, they identified Rishitha, a classmate of the victims, as the culprit. 

The school authorities said that the girl had used a pair of scissors to chop off her classmates’ hair in the late hours of Saturday, while they were asleep. She worked so stealthily that none of them caught her in the act. k
