Rajahmundry: The NDA government, led by the BJP, remained committed to fulfil all promises incorporated in the AP Reorganisation Act, according to former Union Minister D Purandeswari here on Sunday.
Purandeswari told reporters that the Centre had earmarked Rs 100 crore in the budget for Polavaram project and assured the State government that entire expenditure on the project would be borne by it. On the special category status for the State, she said that the Union government was in the process of formulating a package in consultation with all stakeholders.
She explained that Centre would release funds in phased manner once the detail project report was submitted by the state government on building new capital city. Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu was seized of the issue of a separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam. .
