Rajamahendravaram: As many as 30 persons of eight countries settled in foreign countries of Indian origin came to India under Now India programme under the aegis of Union Ministry of Youth Services.
As part of it, they visited the Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage, museum, house in Dowleswaram and Kandukuriv Veeresalingam Panthulu house, town hall, tombs etc in the city here on Tuesday.
All they came from Srilanka, Fizi, Thailand, Gayana, Miyanmar, South Africa and Suryanam. CETRAJ chief executive officer K Raghubabu, Water Resources department engineers accompanied the team and briefed about the barrage etc.
Many of them expressed happiness for visiting India as there their ancestors hail from here and some of them said they wanted to settle in this country. The team also will visit various places on Janaury Wednesday and Thursday.
