GIET holds rally against usage of plastic in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: GIET School of Pharmacy organised a rally against usage of plastic here on Friday in which 80 NSS volunteers of the school participated showing placards against plastic usage. The rally started at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram and concluded at Kambala tank touching Gokavaram bus station and Devi Chowk.

Participating in the rally, municipal corporation health officer Dr MVR Murthi said that everyone in society should take up plastic ban as a social responsibility. Because of plastic usage many problems are arising and also posing problem to environment.

Many people are throwing plastic material in the drains in the city. As a result, the flow of drain water was hampering and it also posing health problems. Municipal corporation banned usage of plastic in the city, he said and appealed to the people to extend their cooperation in this regard.

Health department supervisor I Srinivas, GIET School of Pharmacy NSS programme officer Sheik Meera and others were present.
