Rajahmundry: Kakinada-based Balaji Marines failed to pull up the boat on Monday. It will continue its rescue efforts on Tuesday.
On the day, the rescue team and divers spent three hours tying a iron wire rope to the capsized boat under water. But when the proclainer pulled it, instead of the boat, the anchor pulled up parts of its roof and gear box. But in the process the boat is estimated to have come up to a depth of 20 feet.
Members of the rescue team said that it is possible that the boat will have to be retrieved in parts because not only it weighs approximately 40 tonnes, but also it has been in water for 37 days. Moreover, soil and sand must have accumulated in it, they said.
With 11 bodies yet to be recovered, families of the missing are waiting with bated breath for the boat to be recovered.
