VIJAYAWADA: There were no postings from 1980 in any University in the State and with the initiation of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the screening test will be conducted for 1,109 assistant professor posts of 14 Universities, said HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He addressed the media on Wednesday and announced the test details, schedule. He announced that the test will be held from April 9 — 13 in 11 centres along with Hyderabad. The minister said that they have appointed five members of the high power committee with the retired vice-chancellors led by Prof. C.V. Raghavulu and added that 3,259 posts were sanctioned for 14 universities.
The test will be conducted for 1,109 assistant professors posts in II-phases, 846 posts in phase-I and 263-posts in phase-II. He clarified that the screen test will be organised due to previous experiences of misappropriations in appointing assistant professor posts and the government is not involving in the autonomous power of any university.
He said that after the test, universities will follow their rules and regulations transparently. As many as 76,356 applications were received for the test. The tests will be conducted in 11 centres viz. Anantapur, Guntur, Hyderabad, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore, Rajamahendravaram, Srikakulam, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Vizag. Paper-1 teaching aptitude test which is common for all and Paper-2 will be based on their subjects. He said that the government sanctioned `2,50,003 cr, among the highest budgets in the state.
