Rajahmundry: Municipal corporation authorities are organising Sankranti festivities in a traditional manner involving decorated bulls, Haridas kirtans, bonfire, colourful rangoli patterns and other activities based on the directions from the state government at Pushkar Ghat on Sunday from 7 am onwards. Municipal commissioner V. Vijay Rama Raju, in a release, said on Saturday that they were organising Sankranti celebrations in a befitting manner to suit the Telugu tradition and culture and called upon the students and general public to take part in the festivities in large number. He said that apart from several cultural programmes scheduled to be held on the occasion, they would be organising Happy Sunday event also along with the festivities.
In a separate development, the municipal commissioner appealed to the people to visit the website of Swachh Survekshan Survey-2018 and respond to the six questions asked positively on maintenance of cleanliness and other issues in the city to help get good ranking. He said that those who completed 15 years of age can take part in online survey.
