CM warns of stern action against corrupt people

Inaugurating the new office of ACB, constructed with ₹ 98 lakh, at China Gadili here on Thursday evening, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said his government had zero-tolerance towards corruption.

The Chief Minister said technology was playing a great role in preventing corruption and quoted the example of online payment of pensions and scholarships and biometric system in public distribution.

However, severe action would be taken against the few indulging in corrupt practices to meet the objective of good governance, he said. To speed up trial, ACB court was also set up at Rajahmundry.

The government’s endeavour was directed against reaching a satisfaction level of 80 % and last month 59 % expressed satisfaction, the Chief Minister said.

DCI issue

The Chief Minister said the DCI privatisation issue would be taken up with the Union Government.

Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Director General of Police N. Sambasiva Rao, Director General of ACB R.P. Thakur, MP K. Haribabu, MLAs Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, V. Ramakrishnababu and Palla Srinivasa Rao and ZP Chairperson Lalam Bhavani participated.
