265 prisoners test COVID positive in Rajahmundry

Rajahmundry: As many as 265 inmates at the Rajahmundry Central Prison here are affected by the coronavirus.

The district administration organised COVID tests for 900 prisoners on August 3 of whom 247 were found positive.

Earlier, during the tests conducted August 1 and 2 on 139 at the prison, 24 prison staff and 18 inmates tested positive.

In all, out of 1,675 prisoners, 265 are found affected by coronavirus while the 24 prison personnel are being treated in home isolation.
