IGNOU, in collaboration with the Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI), has launched dual degree programmes for candidates pursuing Charted Accountancy.
Students of the Foundation Level or Intermediate Level or First Level of the CA course can join IGNOU’s B.Com. (Accountancy and Finance) programme.
They have to do minimum prescribed courses and gain credits from IGNOU and these will automatically be transferred to the courses they complete from the ICAI.
IGNOU Regional Director S. Raja Rao said the programme was tailor-made for CA students.
They would get 64 credits exemption for the courses they do from the ICAI as a part of their CA course and have to do minimum courses of 32 credits from IGNOU.
CPT-qualified candidates can apply for this programme.
After successful completion of all credits of IGNOU and CA programmes, students would be awarded B.Com. (Accountancy and Finance) degree by IGNOU.
IGNOU offers similar B.Com. programmes for ICWAI and ICSI students.
The prospectus, costing Rs. 750, is available at the IGNOU Regional Centre at Ushodaya Junction, MVP Colony, and IGNOU Study Centres located at Dr. L. Bullayya College in Visakhapatnam; Ideal College, Kakinada, and Government College (A), Rajahmundry, which are all open on Sundays.
The last date for submitting the application form is August 17 without late fee and August 31 with a late fee of Rs. 300.
