Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials that all the 42 lakh pensions in the state should be delivered at the homes of the aged, handicapped and widows instead of them trekking long distances to the post office.
In a review meeting on the distribution in of pensions in the state, the AP Chief minister said 77,000 new pensioners have been identified and their pension disbursement will commence from from April 1.
The 77,000 new pensioners are from 12 districts excluding Krishna district which has not submitted the data on the new list of pensioners.
The Chief Minister was informed that of the 5.9 lakh applications received, only 2.99 lakh were eligible for pensions which will by coordinated by Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru village-level committees.
