A.P. Assembly adjuourned thrice

Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned thrice on Tuesday after slogan-shouting YSR Congress members stalled the Question Hour proceedings demanding a discussion on increasing the wages for Anganwadi workers in the State.

As soon as the House met to take up the day’s business, Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao announced that he was rejecting an adjournment motion tabled by YSR Congress Party on the problems of Anganwadi workers.

Holding placards and raising slogans, YSR Congress members rushed into the well and surrounded the Speaker’s podium, forcing the Chair to adjourn the House.

Similar scenes forced two more adjournments even as Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, Labour Minister Atchan Naidu, Women Empowerment Minister P. Sujatha and Rural Development Minister K. Mrinalini said that the Government was sympathetic towards resolving Anganwadi workers problems in spite of financial problems.They accused the YSR Congress members of politicising the issue to gain political mileage.
