Kidnapped woman surfaces at Gajuwaka

The 22-year-old woman, who was allegedly kidnapped by some unidentified persons on Wednesday afternoon, surfaced at Gajuwaka here on Thursday.
Based on a complaint filed by Kanaka Mahalakshmi, mother of the victim, the police had formed special teams to locate the kidnapped woman.
The victim identified as Lakshmi Vasanthi was reportedly picked up by some persons near the Coromandel gate and based on a couple of SMSes sent by her to a friend that she was kidnapped, the mother had lodged a complaint with the Malkapuram police station.
“We had tracked the cell phone, and as per the tracking the signal indicated a movement to Anakapalle, Tuni, Rajahmundry and Guntur,” said Joint Commissioner A.S. Khan.
But on Thursday morning, she called her mother from Gajuwaka and asked her to pick her up, informed the police. “The victim has not disclosed anything to us so far and is under medical observation. We shall come to know what happened only when we are able to speak to her,” said Mr. Khan.
