Director Samuthirakani had been requesting people to Go Vote, and was recently accused by Netizens that he had not voted, as there were no photos of him voting. Now the director has clarified that he had voted in the state assembly election.
Posting a video note, Samuthirakani said that his wife and himself went to the polling booth at 6.55pm, but there was a fault in the electronic voting machine, and they stood in line for 30-40 minutes and after the issue was fixed, he was the first to vote at 7.40pm. Samuthirakani further said that as he didn’t advertise the fact that he had voted, people started saying that he did not vote.
Similarly, director Lingusamy who was also facing the same accusation has issued a clarification through his Twitter page where he has said that though he was shooting his next film in Rajahmundry, he came to Chennai just to vote, but media had wrongly reported that he hasn’t voted. Lingusamy further said that the media must do it’s duty properly just like he did his duty correctly.
