APS-JAC leaders burn panels’ reports on capital in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: Amaravathi Parirakshana Samithi -Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders burnt the reports of GN Rao Committee and Boston Consultancy Group in Bhogi bonfire near Somalamma temple protesting against their recommendations given in favour of constructing three capital cities after shifting it out from Amaravathi. They alleged that the reports were prepared at the behest of the YSRCP government without taking the ground realities into consideration.

TDP leaders Adireddy Appa Rao, YVG Raidu, V Rambabu, JSP leaders K Durgesh, Vasu, RPC president M Srinivas, CPI leader N Rama Rao, Congress leader N Srinivas and many others participated in the protest programme.

The JAC leaders demanded that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy rollback the decision of forming three capitals immediately. Describing YS Jaganmohan Reddy as the modern day Mohammad bin-Tughlaq, they said because of three capitals, the state exchequer incurs a huge loss and the people also face many problems. The farmers who gave up their fertile agricultural lands in the hope of construction of a world class capital were left in the lurch, they lamented.

The agitation will be intensified if the government fails to rollback its decision in this regard, they warned.
