Vizag wins big in inter-district athletic meet

Rajahmundry: Visakhapatnam district has bagged a number of awards at the 6th AP State junior inter-district athletic championship held at Rajahmundry on Saturday. Among the events for boys, Visakhapatnam district has won both the under-14 and the under-16 championship. While in the girls division, Visakhapatnam district won the under-16 category.
Srikakulam district won the overall boys’ championship as well as the under-20 boys’ championship. Srikakulam also won the under-14 championship for girls. Prakasam district won the under-18 championship for girls and Krishna district won the under-20 event for girls.
In the individual championships for boys, Tuba Gopalakrishna from Visakhapatnam won the under-14 competition and Rangisingi Sai Srinivas won the under-16 competition.
N Shanmuga Srinivas from Nellore won the under-18 individual contest and SK Sharif from Krishna district won the under-20 individual competion.
Among girls, V Niharika from Visakhapatnam won in the under-14 category and G Lakshmi from Vizianagaram won in the under-16 category. P Mounika from Prakasam district won the under-18 girls competition and D Jyothika Sri from Krishna won the under-20 category.
