JS MLA gets bail after being issued notice 41

Rajahmundry: Amidst high drama, Razole MLA Rapaka Vara Prasad, lone Jana Sena MLA in the assembly, was arrested by Malkipuram police on Tuesday.
The East Godavari police booked a case on the night of August 12 against Vara Prasad and his aides on the charges of attacking Malkipuram police station. Later, he was produced before the court, which issued him notice number 4. The Razole MLA was released later.
Razole circle inspector Mohan Reddy and Maklipuram sub-inspector KV Rama Rao revealed that nine persons were arrested on August 11 for gambling at a guesthouse. They seized Rs 37,700, six motorcycles and cell phones from them.
Soon after, Vara Prasad along with his aide, Geddam Tulasi Bhaskar, reached the spot and the latter made it clear that he will not allow the police to the seize the money and bikes. He also, allegedly, verbally abused Rama Rao. Not stopping at that, Vara Prasad and close to 150 of his followers allegedly attacked the police station and broken two windows and a water cooler and demanded that the arrested persons be released.
After the Razole MLA was arrested the Jana Sena state president came out against the police saying that they should not have registered a non-bailable case against the MLA and criticised the Jana Sena leader for his actions. Moreover, he questioned as to why no action was taken against Nellore rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar who attacked a senior journalist Dolendra Prasad. Meanwhile it was found out that party chief Pawan Kalyan had planned visit to Razole after the news of arrest reached him. But later when Vara Prasad got bail he cancelled his plan. Kalyan has expressed his satisfaction with the response of the AP government and police. It is said that he was in constant touch with the police since Tuesday morning with regard to the bail of Vara Prasad.
