Rajahmundry: Purushottapatnam lift irrigation project affected farmers have flayed TD MLA from Rajanagaram Pendurthy Venkatesh for misleading them on three pending petitions in the Hyderabad High Court related to payment of relief and resettlement claiming they were struck off.
As many as 15 farm labourers filed a petition in the High Court on May 20, 2017 related to R and R package.
On September 4, 2017, as many as 60 farmers filed a writ petition in the High Court for providing R and R related to 50 acre. The hearing of the case is in progress. The government filed a counter petition. In addition to this, a PIL was filed and the hearing on it is in progress with the bench headed by the Chief Justice.
TD MLA Venkatesh held talks with farmers on Thursday and 20 of them accepted relief of `28 lakh per acre. The legislator also spoke to 60 farmer representatives.
