Guntur city tops AP in use of Pura Seva

GUNTUR: The people of Guntur and Kakinada cities are on leading others in the state with regard to use of Pura Seva mobile application. As many as 16,043 people downloaded Pura Seva application on their mobiles in Guntur city which was given the first place in AP for use of the app. Similarly 12,115 people downloaded Pura Seva app on their mobiles in Kakinada, making it occupy second place.

The GMC officials conducting widespread campaign about Pura Seva among the masses and hoping getting good rank in the Swachh Surveskhan all India rankings with clean and green initiatives. The public are happy to have technology in their palms. The Pura Seva is usable not only for paying bills but will also help the public take civic problems to the notice of the corporation officials.

A command control room has been started in the AP Secretariat and another Pura Seva center is functioning in the GMC office in Guntur. N. Hari, a resident of Guntur, said everybody is now using mobile phones with internet so the Pura Seva application is helping them take issues relating to drinking water, sanitation, drainage, street lights and other issues, to the notice of the civic officials and get them resolve.

He said the public can upload the photo of the problem and it is helping the officials clear the garbage on streets as many people are sending photos of garbage pile to the GMC. Similarly, Pura Seva application was downloaded on mobiles by 5,591 people in Tenali and 4,863 people of Piduguralla in Guntur district. Kakinada occupies second place and Nandyala municipality, third place with 9,751 downloads, followed by Rajamahendravaram with 9,480 downloads, Ongole with 7,897 downloads and interestingly,  Visakhapatnam is lagging behind in Pura Seva with only 4,721 downloads. Guntur city is now competing for Swachh Survekshan-2018 ranking.
