Five persons, including two children and three women, belonging to the same family were killed and eight others injured in a road accident that took place near Anantapalli Yerra Kaluva bridge in Nalljarla mandal of West Godavari on the early hours of Friday.
The accident took place when an AP State Road Transport Corporation bus from Rajamahendravaram was going to Eluru collided with a lorry coming in opposite direction.
According to Tadepalligudem Police Inspector, the deceased were identified as Dalam Lakshmi (50), Kapusetti Jyothi (37), Savitramma (60) and two children-Satya Santhoshi (6), Siva Sai (13).
Among the eight injured, the condition of two persons is said to be critical. All the injured were shifted to Tadepalligudum government hospital. As per the preliminary information, those killed in the accident were from Tuni in East Godavari district
