Jagan Mohan Reddy misleading farmers: Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy.

Rajahmundry: YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying to con farmers in the state with his false promises, said agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy. Mr Somireddy who visited Rajahmundry on Sunday lashed out at the Opposition leader’s Padayatra. Speaking to reporters, he said that Jagan was misleading the farmers of the state and is making baseless charges on Telugu Desam. 

The agriculture minister said that the state government is was doing its best to help farmers by implementing farm loan waiver, providing farm inputs at subsidised rates and supply of free uninterrupted power. “Both Central and state governments were focusing on developing the agriculture sector for the welfare of farmers and sanctioned more funds,” Mr Somireddy said.

Later, after laying stone of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University College, the minister in his address said that state government was adopting sophisticated technology for developing agriculture sector and reached an agreement with Belinda Gates Foundation. Mr Somireddy said that 12,500 tractors would be supplied to the farmers under subsidy at a cost of Rs 450 crore in the name of ‘Rythu Ratham.’MLA G. Buchaiah Chowdary thanked Vice-President M. Venkaiahnaidu for his help in land acquisition during his tenure as minister in Union cabinet on the occasion.
