Rajahmundry: A woman was killed while her husband sustained injuries when the bike on which they were riding was hit by a speeding tractor on NH-16 at Khandavalli of Peravali mandal in West Godavari on Saturday. According to police, L. Manga Tayaru, 42, was riding pillion when her husband Srirama Krishna Surya Prabhakar Rao hailing from East-Vipparru of Iragavaram mandal, was riding the bike.
They were proceeding from East Vipparru to Khandavalli. As they were crossing the NH-16 to enter the village road, a tractor coming from behind rammed their bike. Under the impact, she fell down on the road and was crushed to death under the wheels of the tractor. Her husband was shifted to local government hospital for medical treatment. Police booked a case and investigation is on.
