Chief Secretary foresees more jobs in tourism sector

VIJAYAWADA: Observing that there is scope for generation of more jobs in tourism sector, Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar has directed officials to focus on expanding it in the State.Apart from promoting temple and beach tourism, the department should develop existing tourism spots near towns, he said and told them to arrange water sports, floating restaurants and boating facilities in Vijayawada and Rajamahendravaram cities located on the banks of Krishna and Godavari rivers, respectively.

While reviewing the progress of service sector with the officials at the IGC in Velagapudi on Tuesday, Dinesh Kumar instructed the officials to set up restaurants along the sea coast. When the officials informed him that the number of flight services connecting several parts of the state will be increased by December, the Chief Secretary suggested them to set up showrooms in airports for marketing the handicrafts.
