Nalgonda: A private travels bus overturned on National Highway 65 at Aitipamula village of Kattangur mandal in the district on the wee hours of Saturday.
Five passengers were injured in the mishap. The bus was going from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry and the accident occurred around 3 am and nearly 50 passengers were in the bus. The bus driver fled after the accident. Kattangur police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Kamineni Institute of Medical sciences at Narketpally. The other passengers were sent to their destinations in other vehicles.
According to the passengers, the bus which was scheduled to start at 10.30 pm, left Hyderabad at 1 am. The driver was speeding possibly to make up for the lost time lost control of the vehicle, it was said.
