The Andhra Pradesh State Film Television and Theatre Development Corporation Limited will present the State-level and District-level Kandukuri Puraskarams-2017 during the 20th Nandi Natakaranga Bahumatulu-2016 function to be held in Rajamahendravaram on April 30.
Three theatre personalities — Karnati Lakshmi Narasaiah, Chinta Kabir Das and Aggavarapu Rajani Bai — would be honoured with the prestigious State-Level Kandukuri Rangasthala Puraskarams, said the Corporation Managing Director S. Venkateshwar. They would be given Rs. 1 lakh and a commendation certificate each, he said.
The government would also honour 65 theatre personalities (five awards for each district) at the district-level. A five-member committee headed by film actor and Parliament Member Maganti Murali Mohan, members Misro, Patibandla Ananda Rao, Patti Obulaiah and Balachander — was constituted to select the artistes for the puraskarams.
The committee selected famous personalities for their contribution to different theatre arts in the last few years, said Mr. Venkateshwar.
The district-level artistes are: Gokavalasa Krishna Murthy, P. Suryanarayana, S. Ramana, Vakamalla Sarojini and Basa Murali (Srikakulam district). Eepu Vijay Kumar, Chinna Suryakumari, Teda Ramadasu, B.V.S. Krishna Mohan and Nagavolu Parameswara Rao (Vizianagaram district).
P.R. Anjaneyulu, B.V.A Naidu, Vankayala Satyanarayana, Anuradha and Pilla Sanyasi Rao (Visakhapatnam district). Konduri Nageswara Rao, T.K. Suryanarayana, Babu Rao, Shaik Shameed Babu and P.V. Krishna Rao (East Godavari district).
Boddepalli Appa Rao, Shaik Kajavali, Maddali Rama Rao, Raja Tataiah and Gandeti Venkateswara Rao (West Godavari district). Govada Venkatrao, Akurati Bhaskar Chandra, Abdul Khader Jeelani, Nandagiri Narasimha Rao and Ammana Vijayalakshmi (Krishna district).

Nagamuni Madhu Babu, V. Sudhakar, A. Krishna Rao, Nandaluri Balaji and Naveena (Kadapa district). K.C. Krishna, G. Nagabushanam, Chakala Ramudu, Vijayalakshmi and Anuradha, the MD said. The district-level awardees will be presented a commendation and Rs.10,000 each, said Mr. Venkateshwar.
