Warehouse assistant jailed in graft case

The second additional special judge for CBI cases G. Satya Prabhakar Rao on Thursday convicted and awarded sentence of four-years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 to Mulakalapalli Elisha, the then Warehouse Assistant Grade-I, Central Warehousing Corporation, Rajahmundry.
The accused has been sent to Central Prison in Vizag.
As per the allegation, Elisha had demanded a bribe of Rs. 6,000 and was caught while accepting the bribe from a complainant.
The complainant is proprietor of a firm engaged in purchase and sale of raw cashew nuts and he has stored the goods in the CWC godown.
Elisha demanded bribe for allowing him to lift his material which was sold to a party from Odisha.
After conducting regular trial, the court pronounced judgment convicting Elisha for the offences punishable under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988.
The judge ordered that sentences imposed on the accused shall run concurrently.
