‘Empowerment of downtrodden community can bring about a true change in society’

Summary: The vision of a developed country could only be realised only by empowering the downtrodden sections of society, founder of Dr. Ambedkar Memorial School, Yedla Naoko Simhadri said here on Sunday. Ms. Naoko, a native of Japan is the wife of former Vice Chancellor of ANU, Andhra University, and Benares Hindu University, Y.C Simhadri. Retired Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court, Justice Ambati Lakshmana Rao presided over the programme. Speaking after receiving the Spoorthy Award instituted by the Bommidala Srikrishnamurthy Foundation, Ms. Naoko said the school started by her in Visakhapatnam in 1987 continues to bring a change in the lives of many families.
