Noose tightens on Vet doc

VISAKHAPATNAM: The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) continued their search operations over the properties of tainted assistant veterinary surgeon of Pandrangi, G Kanthi Kiran, on the third day on Monday. The officials unearthed around 5.4 kg of silver from two lockers of various banks, which were opened on Monday.

According to ACB DSP (Visakhapatnam) K Ramakrishna Prasad, the tainted officer was arrested and remanded for 14 days by the ACB Special Court on Monday. It may be recalled  that the houses, properties of Kanthi Kiran and his friends and families were raided at 11  places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rajahmundry, Kakinada and Eluru.
On the first day of the raids, assets worth `2 crore were recovered. On Sunday the ACB team recovered 1,020 gram gold ornaments, `1 lakh cash, documents of a flat at Madhurawada and two house sites were recovered. On Monday, silver items were seized from the lockers. 
Sources said that the document value of the seized properties would be over `2.5 crore, but the market value is estimated to cross ` 20 crore.
