–    Kandula Durgesh tenders resignation 
–    Will announce future course of action on November 29
–    Likely to join YSRCP


Rajamahendravaram: In a major jolt to the Congress party in the East Godavari district. District Congress Committee president and former MLC Kandula Durgesh announced that he was quitting the party. Though he said that he would announce his future course of action on November 29, there were enough indications that he would join the YSR Congress Party.


Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Durgesh said that he was leaving the Congress party with shattered heart as there was no hope in near future to achieve his objectives by staying in the party. He mentioned that he rendered services to the party from his student days and strived hard for the victory of the party candidates over the years.


He maintained that he was given opportunity as MLC by former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, through which he was able to present the voice of the public in the legislative council. He recalled that Congress was not only to be blamed for the bifurcation of the State and added that every party has approved the separation. 


Stating that he was given the reigns of the party in the district during the struggling times, he said that has taken up many programmes to revive the party. He mentioned that the Congress party has done many things for him and he did also served the party well.  He said that he has informed the PCC president Raghuveera Reddy and senior leaders like KVP, Chiranjeevi, C Ramachandraiah, MM Pallam Raju and JD Seelam about his resignation. He claimed that 90 per cent of his followers have supported his decision to quit the Congress party.
