HYDERABAD: The state government, which wants to promote religious and cultural tourism in the State on a large-scale, decided to take the occasion of conduct of ensuing ‘Godavari Maha Pushkarams’ as a first step to achieve this target.
Hence, the State government resolved to celebrate this mega event in a traditional manner by attracting more number of pilgrims from all over the country and across the globe. As part of this, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu released a logo for Godavari Pushkarams here on Monday.
“The logo reflected the river in flow and a devotee offering prayers, depicting the relationship between the river and people,” state government advisor (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar said after the logo was unveiled by Naidu. “The logo also depicts the speed, direction and flow of the Godavari River,” he added. According to Parakala, the logo was designed by Shreshta Communications.
Later, Parakala and Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao held a meeting with all the Secretaries, Head of the Departments here over the conduct of Pushkarams.
According to a press release, the chief secretary issued instructions to all departments to run a focused massive publicity campaign to attract and more people to Pushkarams. “No plastic material would be allowed and the surrounding places on Godavari River would be promoted as an eco-tourism,” the chief secretary added.
The Sports Authority of AP (SAAP) decided to conduct rural and traditional competitions in 12 mandals of East Godavari and 10 mandals of West Godavari Districts on the banks of Godavari River covering 12 disciplines for both boys and girls and also men and women during the mega event.
