Rs 700 crore PFA program in AP

AP Government has launched a s.700 crore program for strengthening of networks in Urban areas and electrification of rural networks.

Aimed to provide quality & reliable power supply (24 X 7) to the domestic, commercial and industrial consumers and to ensure 7 hours power supply to agriculture sector AP Govt in collaboration with Govt. of India will implement the prestigious projects of IDPS (Integrated Power Development Scheme) & DDUGJJY (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyothi Yojana).

Under the scheme a sum of Rs 430Crs is spent for strengthening sub-transmission and distribution networks, Metering of distribution/feeders/consumers in urban areas. Apart from these, strengthening of distribution network and IT enablement of distribution sector like establishment of online feeder monitoring systems and computerized 24×7 Customer Call Centers will also be taken up on a war footing.

M/s Power Finance Corporation (PFC), the nodal agency for IPDS has sanctioned Rs 430.50 crores.  Out of which an amount of Rs 258.3 crores (i.e 60% amount) will be provided by the GoI as grant. AP Govt will spend Rs 330 crore for implementation of DDUGJY scheme for electrification of rural villages and tribal hamlets. Electrification of 1031 un-electrified habitations and 6, 83,501 rural households including 4, 32,334 BPL are being taken up in this scheme.
