Naidu to Launch Knowledge Mission

VISAKHAPATNAM: As a part of the ambitious seven missions envisaged by the state government to ensure all-round development of the state, Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the Andhra Pradesh Knowledge Mission here on April 8. Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu and state HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao will participate in the inaugural function to be held on Andhra University campus.

Speaking to mediapersons Ganta Srinivasa Rao said here Monday that the objective of the Knowledge Mission was to improve the education standards in the state and develop it into a knowledge hub. A committee comprising academicians and experts from various organisations in India and abroad, has been constituted by the state government to make necessary recommendations to bring reforms in the education sector, he added.

On the occasion, the chief minister would also present Pratibha Awards to 2,375 degree students for their meritorious academic achievements. Each awardee will get prizes worth Rs 30,000, including Rs 20,000 cash and a laptop worth Rs 10,000. “The government is planning to sponsor the educational expenses of Pratibha awardees, helping them to secure admission to the college of their choice from the next year,” the HRD minister added.
