AP will be like Gujarat in development

Visakhapatnam: BJP-led NDA government at the Centre was committed to develop Navyandhra Pradesh in all respects, said Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda.Addressing at the party State Executive meeting at Rushikonda beach here on Sunday, Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sanctioned many prestigious educational institutions and accorded national status to the Polavaram irrigation project besides making AP a power surplus State. In the very near future, the AP will stand on a par with the States like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in terms of development, he said.

Stating that membership drive in AP evoked a tremendous response. The BJP leader said after the drive came to an end, Jana Sampark and Maha Sampark Abhiyan would be launched from May for three months. He called upon the party leaders to develop the party further in the coming six months by taking all welfare schemes being implemented by the Centre and the development projects sanctioned to Andhra Pradesh to the people.

Party State president and Vizag MP Dr K Hari Babu described the BJP victory in the 2014 general elections “historic” and thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing various welfare schemes and paying special attention on the development of AP. He cited the issue of ordinance merging seven sub-merging revenue mandals of Polavaram project into the AP soon after the formation of NDA government as an example of its commitment to AP. ‘If the State government utilises the funds given by the Central government for the Polavaram Project, there will be possibility to get more funds. Likewise, the State shall have to send detailed report on the construction of capital or other projects to the Centre for funds,” he said.

Hari Babu also thanked Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu who was instrumental in funding the State by co-ordinating with 35 different Ministries. Responding to a call given by the Prime Minister to all those who were financially sound to surrender LPG subsidy, Hari Babu called upon the party cadre to give up the subsidy. He received declaration forms from the participants surrendering the LPG subsidy. The State President assured the Central leadership that they would further strengthen the party in the State.
